What to expect when you visit

What are the service times ?

Sabbath School or Lesson Study, begins on Saturday morning at 9:45 am to 10:40 am with a short song service, mission spotlight and then the weeks lesson study in the main sanctuary. Children 18 and under meet in separate classrooms according to the age of the child.  The weeks announcement video and song service is from 10:40 to 11 am. Worship service is from 11 am to 12 pm. Check our calendar for information.

What should I expect during service ?

The worship service will include music and singing, a children's story, Bible readings and a sermon by either the Pastor or one of the elders. Our members are very friendly and will likely shake your hand after services and invite you to stay for one of our famous potlucks that are held weekly after services. Check our calendar for weekly information and church events.

What should I wear ?

Feel free to come as you are. When you do visit, you will see that some of our members wear suits and ties or dresses and others wear dress pants with shirts or blouses, and some will be wearing jeans. We welcome you to wear what feels most appropriate to you.

The church is handicap accessible with clearly marked signs. Curb cuts and wide doorways allow for access into the church with no need for steps or stairs.

There are people attending and even leading at the Spencer SDA Church who have major hurts, habits, and hang-ups. In fact, perfect people are not allowed. We’re a community of people who don’t have it all together but are discovering what it means to find life in Jesus, to follow him fully, to break free from our past, and to walk in victory together. That’s who we are.

About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 25 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
